“I wore a mini-dress for our civil ceremony so I wanted to take the opportunity to wear a big, show-stopping dress but I still wanted to feel like me and stay true to my own style. I went to the first appointment at Halfpenny with my friend Caroline. I loved all the dresses but when I tried on the Esme and Caroline said I looked “like an adult ballerina”, I was sold.
Esme is made from the most beautiful fabric and the top layer is floral embroidered organza which was unlike anything I’d ever seen before. I loved the fitted bodice, the low back and the amazing organza train which the sun shone through beautifully on the day. I added spaghetti straps and a little belt to highlight the waist. It was absolutely perfect.”

Halfpenny London is the most relaxing and lovely place. And although I wanted to try on every single dress, Jean was amazingly helpful and helped me see very quickly which styles suited me. It could have been quite overwhelming, but she was wonderful."

"I went to about four boutiques before coming to Halfpenny London. They were all much bigger and stocked lots of different designers, and though I didn’t have a horrible time in any of them, none of the dresses were made in the UK or made to measure, the staff didn’t seem too attached to the designs or dresses and it didn’t feel very personal – but of course Halfpenny was totally different!
I first came to Halfpenny on my own, and I left feeling like I’d just gone dress shopping with one of my best friends. You get the perfect mix of feeling amazing and an honest response from the lovely ladies in the boutique."
