Newlyweds Nicole and John married in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, bringing their closest friends and family together. The couple worked with a glamorous black and white colour palette with gold accents, and incorporated bows and bubbles in their decorations. “We got engaged in Paris and then went to the Champagne region to celebrate right after,” Nicole said. “So incorporating elements of France and champagne made perfect sense to us. The bow element was inspired by the bow on my dress!”

Nicole’s wedding dress search brought her to our wonderful stockist Wander Atelier in New Jersey. She was happy to let her stylist guide her creatively, and embraced the chance to try on designs she might not have picked out herself.

“I always envisioned myself in something closer to a slip dress style, but I remember putting on Dove and knew it was the perfect fit for me. I had little emotion before trying on Dove, but as soon as I had it on I was trying so hard to hide the tears. The Dove dress exudes modern elegance, and is designed to be truly versatile. A true Halfpenny London bride, Nicole loved the possibility of interchanging her looks throughout the day. Whereas she had the straps of the Dove’s bodice tied in a bow for the first part of her day, she tied them in the back to create a strapless look for the evening party.

The bow detail on her dress was one of her favourite elements, so much that she decided to incorporate the bow symbol into her wedding theme: “Bows were everywhere, from the seating chart to drink charms to our place cards.”

Nicole’s wedding was full of personal, heartfelt touches, creating moments she’ll treasure for a lifetime.

“I’ll always remember how I felt right before I walked down the aisle. We picked a song that was special to us, and I thought I was prepared but it was waterworks instantly.”
