A beautiful Halfpenny London bride chose dramatic sleeves and a draped silk skirt for an elegant wedding at Belcombe Court.

Newlyweds Nikki and Tom tied the knot last summer in the beautiful setting of Belcombe Court in Bradford-on-Avon. The couple initially planned for an Ibiza wedding, however with a guest list of 207 they made the decision to celebrate in the UK instead enlisting wedding planner Amy from Attabara to plan the big day.

Nikki started her wedding dress search at our flagship boutique in Bloomsbury and knew she was destined to become a Halfpenny London bride.

“Halfpenny London was the first shop I went to and nothing really compared afterwards,” Nikki said. “I tried on other designers that I did like but when I compared the photos they just didn’t compete. Halfpenny dresses really are in a league of their own. The appointment was fun, welcoming and I left wanting to go back!”

“The material wasn’t like any other dress I tried (and I tried on a lot!) it hung so nicely but felt thick and secure without being bulky. Ultimately, I put the dress on and felt like me but better.”

“I had sort of imagined a dress in my head before I started shopping that I just couldn’t find online anywhere. I kept thinking if it doesn’t exist maybe that’s because it wouldn’t work or would look too much. When I got to Halfpenny I knew I wanted to try the Okotan Skirt (the bottom half of my imagined design) and explained the top half to Megan [the stylist] who nodded, smiled and said she thought we could create it with a top and a sleeve. She bought out the Oliver Corset and Mars Sleeves - as soon as I tried it on I loved it. The material wasn’t like any other dress I tried (and I tried on a lot!) it hung so nicely but felt thick and secure without being bulky. Ultimately, I put the dress on and felt like me but better.”

Nikki completed her look with our floor length Cascade veil, a pair of Jimmy Choo Indiya mules, and delicate gold earrings. She looked magical for her big day.
