Beautiful Astrid | a Halfpenny london bride
Gorgeous couple Astrid Codemo and Liam Maguire said ‘I do’ this May at Orange Tree House. The couple enjoyed gorgeous sunshine for their wedding and Astrid’s choice of dress was so perfect for the big day.
“I had a vision of something with clean lines, modern and a bit laid back,” she said. “I wanted a dress that I knew that I would be comfortable in both in the ceremony and on the dance floor. I can safely say that Halfpenny delivered!”
At the beginning, Astrid felt her dress search wasn’t going as well as she hoped…
“I was actually having no luck dress shopping, I knew what I didn’t want but I just hadn’t found what I did want. I tried it all from trunk shows, sample sales and multiple local wedding shops. Nothing felt right and it didn’t feel like me. Hope resurfaced when I found The White Gallery, a Halfpenny Stockist.
After looking through the website I fell in love with the Halfpenny collection that they had in stock. I made an appointment right away with Rachel and I instantly knew I was in the right place after walking in, the selection of dresses available were stylish and unique. Rachel was friendly, patient and effortlessly chic. More so Rachel was so welcoming and was not at all pushy and this instantly put me at ease. I appreciated this so much as I was dress shopping alone, as my family and friends were in Australia. I had so much fun seeing all the different styles and Rachel was able to help me pick something that suited my body shape and that I comfortable in.”

Astrid chose our Iris Slip Dress and paired it with the gorgeous mikado Ariel Bow. I adore this elegant combo!
“I loved the look of the bow on the website and drama it gave to a simple slip. The dress was also comfortable, modern with clean lines. Everything that I wanted. I particularly loved that the bow also provided the dress with a bit of shape around the waist and simplicity of it all meant that I could add a bit of flair with the accessories. As soon as the bow was fastened around my waist any other dress I tried on paled in comparison. I felt beautiful, stylish and confident. The saying is true [when it comes to finding the one] you will know when you know but you do need the right shop and person to guide you through.”
Astrid added a veil made by her mother in law, Teresa Maguire, which is a gift that she will always treasure, gold earrings by Maison Sabben, and gold heels by Sam Edelman. She looked totally stunning and I’m so happy that she chose to be a Halfpenny London bride.
