Gorgeous Caroline | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Caroline married her love, Jacky, this spring at Garthmyl Hall in Wales.
“We just wanted to have a really laid-back and informal weekend with all of our favourite people,” Caroline said. “Coming out of the pandemic it was the first time we’d seen some of our friends for a long time and it was also a great chance for all our friendship groups to reunite too. We had exclusive use of Garthmyl Hall from Friday to Monday which helped to give a relaxed feel to the weekend with plenty of time for catching up. We had a beautiful humanist ceremony on the Saturday under the incredible cedar tree followed by a chilled pizza afternoon on the lawn on Sunday.”
Caroline lived in Manchester so went to visit our lovely stockist there, The White Closet.
“The first and only other dress shop I went to was one of your stockists, the wonderful White Closet in Manchester as we lived a few minutes away at the time. I went to the first appointment alone due to covid restrictions but am so glad that I did as it was great to figure out for myself what I liked or didn’t like without lots of other opinions. I’m usually very indecisive but remarkably found the perfect dress during that appointment but due to a last-minute relocation to London ended up visiting the Halfpenny London store for my second try-on.
The Halfpenny London store is absolutely beautiful and the whole appointment was very relaxing. The assistant was lovely and made me feel at ease and not at all rushed. I was already set on the Cheryl dress and ended up going for the heavy satin version. I knew that I wanted something chic and elegant and I love a high-neck! I chose to wear the Sycamore skirt over the dress which is absolutely stunning and has a really ethereal feel – it caught the light beautifully on the day and elevated the whole look. I took this off just before the first dance – it was great being able to have two outfits!
I knew it was the one because I had the biggest smile on my face when I tried on the combination of the Cheryl dress with the Sycamore skirt and didn’t want to take them off! I felt the most beautiful I’ve ever felt yet still felt very comfortable and like myself. The look on my mum’s face at the appointment was all the confirmation I needed that this was the outfit I’d be walking down the aisle in.
I wanted to keep the accessories really simple given how beautiful the dress and skirt were. The only jewellery I wore were the star-shaped Nysa drop earrings from Carat London. I wore the Meloni off-white sandals from Moda in Pelle – the jewel-encrusted block heel was really comfy and added a nice bit of sparkle when I was dancing.”
It’s such a wonderful, special privilege to dress women for one of the most special days of their lives and I’m thrilled Caroline chose to wear Halfpenny London on her big day.
Here’s to countless happy years for this gorgeous couple!
