Beautiful Frankkey | A Halfpenny London bride
Newlyweds Frankkey and Tom tied the knot in April this year with a modern, minimalist wedding with soft, rustic touches. Frankkey’s dress search brought her to our London boutique and I’m so pleased she found us!
“Halfpenny London was the first shop I visited! I went in to the whole dress shopping experience with a little bit of apprehension because although I’m quite confident with my personal style and I generally know what I like and don’t like, a wedding dress is a totally different ball game! My personal style is usually quite tomboyish, and I barely ever wear dresses so I really didn’t know how it would go but after following Kate and The Halfpennys on Instagram for a little while I just had a feeling if there was anywhere that was going to get me excited it would be there.
My appointment was an absolute dream! The boutique itself is stunning and my stylist was so lovely and encouraging, it really felt like I was with a friend. I came during the pandemic so I was only allowed to have one person with me which was my mum, but actually I think that was for the best, it meant that it was much more intimate and special. Considering it’s quite an overwhelming thing to do, I felt totally at ease and relaxed and just so well looked after. It didn’t feel like I was just another client, the stylists genuinely care and are excited for you and just want you to feel beautiful.”
It’s always wonderful to hear such lovely feedback for my team. They really are magicians! They worked with Frankkey to find her perfect dress, which turned out to be our Max slip dress from the Fly Me to the Moon collection.
“The Max Slip Dress was the first dress I tried on and it was the one I said yes to! I had my heart pretty much set on it from the first time I saw it online and as soon as I saw it hanging up in the shop waiting for me to try, I just knew. I wanted something that was effortlessly stylish, something that was going to make me feel feminine and sexy but also be comfortable and it was honestly all those things and more.
When I tried it on, I can’t even explain it, I felt incredible and it was as if it was made for me. The warm ivory complimented my skin tone perfectly, the cut and neckline was flattering on my petite frame and the low back showed off just the right amount of skin. The fabric was rich and luxurious and more than anything it was so unbelievably comfortable, I could see myself dancing all night long in it and never wanting to take it off. I was also picturing Tom’s reaction to it as well and it just felt so right.
The biggest surprise for me was that I also went for a long veil. Up until my appointment I was so adamant that I wouldn’t wear a veil, my mum was trying her hardest to sway me but I just thought it was too traditional for me but when I tried it on with my dress it definitely sparked something in me! I didn’t initially walk away with it but four months before the wedding, something kind of switched in me and I knew I needed it. It just bought everything together perfectly and gave me that butterfly feeling that every bride should feel.”
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of veils and I adore that Frankkey decided to wear one! She looks sensational.
Congratulations to the newlyweds on their beautiful wedding. Here’s to countless years of health and happiness!
Love,
