Beautiful April | A Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful bride April Dodds and her new hubby tied the knot in September last year. The day took inspiration from April’s favourite film: Marie Antoinette by Sophia Coppola.

When it came to her dress search, April had something specific in mind…

“I always knew my dress was the Mayfair gown. Before I was engaged I saw it online and saved it in a secret folder on my phone! Little did I know that a few months later I would be engaged.  I had always wanted a dress to feel like “me”.  I wasn’t sure of what I wanted but I knew I wanted tulle and frills! I had seen videos of the dress move and the sleeves bounce online and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I knew I had to try it and I was going to do anything to get it! As soon as I did, the search was done. I tried on one Halfpenny dress and this was it. I had been told that there might not be “a moment” [when I tried it on] however as soon I seen it, I knew. It was everything I wanted and more.  The tulle, the silk, the way it moved. EVERYTHING!”

Clearly this was meant to be! April looked incredible and I love to hear our brides stories of how they found their dream dress. April completed her look with Gianvito Rossi platforms, Shrimps earrings, and a stunning bouquet by Baillie of Fiori flowers in Glasgow.

I’m thrilled April wore Halfpenny London on her big day and I wish the happy couple a very long and blissfully happy marriage.
