Beautiful Amy | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Amy married her new husband Dave in September last year. The couple chose to celebrate at Hampton Court house, a beautiful Georgian building with stunning views of Bushy park in South West London.
Amy came to visit us in our Bloomsbury boutique and found her dream gown in our Cedar dress, a modern take on a classic wedding gown.
“I knew from the moment my search for a wedding dress started, Halfpenny London was going to be my first stop. I had been following the brand on Instagram for a while beforehand and was just in love with the beauty of the dresses, the quality of the materials used and all of the different possibilities of how to style a look.
My first appointment was at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, the staff could not have made me feel more at ease, they were so welcoming and reassuring. My Mum and sister were able to video call in from Ireland which made it. I was also 5 months pregnant at the time and slightly panicked at the thought that this would limit my chances of finding the perfect dress. However, my fears were very soon quietened when the stylist had picked out some truly fabulous dresses for me to try on. They were all so different but in accordance with my requests in the emails before the appointment. It was a great opportunity for me to see the dresses I liked from the website and how they compared having tried them on.
I knew I wanted to choose something classic, with gorgeous fabric and clean lines. A dress in which I felt elegant yet comfortable in. The Cedar dress was in fact, a wildcard that the stylist had suggested for me to try during my first appointment. She had clearly read me very well and was able to see where I was headed with my vision! As soon as I put the dress on, I loved it. The heavy fabric in the skirt and how it flowed was beautiful. The neckline was not initially what I imagined I would go for, but after a bit of time taking in the look of the dress, I started to love it more and more. I kept returning to the image of it in the days that followed my first appointment and every time I did, it made me smile thinking how great I felt in it. I felt happy, I felt relaxed and comfortable and like a beautiful bride! There was just something very special about being in this dress, a feeling I didn’t get with the other dresses.”
Amy added a cathedral length veil which was her “something borrowed” - the same veil Amy’s sister wore on her wedding day three months before, so it was a very meaningful, personal touch.
Amy looked stunning and we’re so thrilled she chose to wear Halfpenny London on her big day. Huge congratulations to Amy and Dave! We wish them all the love in the world for their new adventures together.
Love,
The Halfpennys xxx
